Lunch @ Ledoyen – Paris

What?

Ledoyen

The Good

This meal involved some absolutely stunning food priced at an attractive level thanks to the restaurant’s set lunch menu. The spaghetti with truffles (supplement),  lychee dessert and kouign aman were out of this world. I will definitely be back to try a longer tasting menu at dinner when I am next in Paris.

The Bad

There were some unacceptable service gaffes at a restaurant of this level at the start of the meal, including issues with receiving menus, getting water for our table and some hostility from our server at my request to add the spaghetti with truffles course to my meal. However, these issues were not repeated and once the food started arriving at the table I was ready to forgive anything.

    • You will have a great time! If I could afford to travel from Australia to Paris for a weekend just to visit Ledoyen again I would be a happy man! If you can afford it, ask to supplement with the spaghetti aux truffles – it is expensive but so, so, so worth it (and I suspect my difficulties with the staff about the issue were a one-off mistake)
